What are the causes of bearing failures in automotive systems?

1. Improper lubrication: If bearings are not properly lubricated, friction will increase, causing bearing overheating, wear and failure.
2. Excessive wear: Long-term use or harsh use environment may cause bearing wear, causing it to lose its original smooth surface, thereby aggravating friction and failure.
3. Contamination and particulate matter entering: Contamination and particulate matter such as dust, sediment, etc. entering the inside of the bearing will hinder the normal operation of the bearing, to wear and failure.
4. Improper installation and adjustment: If the bearing is not operated correctly during installation and adjustment, it may cause uneven stress on the bearing, causing excessive wear and failure.
5. The load is too large or too light: If the bearing bears a load beyond its design load range, it will accelerate wear and cause failure. Similarly, too light a load can to poor lubrication of the bearings and increase friction.
6. Bending and deflection: If the bearing is subjected to excessive bending or deflection forces, it will cause uneven load on the bearing, accelerate wear and failure.
7. High temperature and abnormal vibration: Excessive temperature and abnormal vibration will have an adverse effect on the bearing, reducing its life and causing failure.
Note: The reasons listed above are only some common causes of bearing failure. The specific reasons may vary depending on factors such as the use environment, use conditions and the characteristics of the bearing itself. In practical applications, regular inspection and maintenance of bearings is important to ensure their normal operation and extend their service life.
