What is the difference between deep groove ball bearings and tapered roller bearings?

1. Structural features
Deep groove ball bearings:
Deep groove ball bearings, also known as single-row radial ball bearings, are the most representative type of rolling bearings. Its inner and outer rings are both cylindrical seats, and the rolling elements are spherical with high precision. There is a deep groove between the inner and outer rings to provide good lubrication performance. Deep groove ball bearings have a simple structure and are easy to use. They are the type of bearings with the largest production batch and the widest application range.

Tapered roller bearings:
The type code of tapered roller bearings is 30000, which belongs to separable bearings. Its main structure includes a double-raceway outer ring and two inner rings, with a spacer between the two inner rings. The clearance of the bearing can be adjusted by adjusting the thickness of the spacer. The outer ring angle and outer raceway diameter of tapered roller bearings have been standardized, which is convenient for universal interchangeability worldwide.

2. Performance characteristics
Deep groove ball bearings:
Load capacity: Deep groove ball bearings have a large contact angle, large load capacity, strong torsion resistance, and can withstand large radial and axial forces at the same time.
Friction coefficient: It has low friction coefficient, good sliding performance and high limit speed.
Application range: It is widely used in various mechanical devices, such as motors, reducers, etc., especially suitable for high-speed occasions.

Tapered roller bearings:
Carrying capacity: Tapered roller bearings are mainly suitable for bearing radial and axial combined loads with radial load as the main load, and can also bear large radial loads and unidirectional axial loads.
Limit speed: Compared with deep groove ball bearings, tapered roller bearings have lower limit speed.
Adjustability: By adjusting the thickness of the spacer, the clearance of the bearing can be easily adjusted to adapt to different working conditions.

3. Application fields
Deep groove ball bearings:
Motor manufacturing: Due to its simple structure, low cost and easy maintenance, it is widely used in various types of motors.
High-speed occasions: When running at high speed, deep groove ball bearings can replace thrust ball bearings to bear pure axial loads.

Tapered roller bearings:
Heavy machinery: Because it can withstand large axial and radial loads, it is often used in heavy machinery, mining machinery, etc.
Automobile manufacturing: It is widely used in automobile transmission systems, such as transmissions, main reducers, etc.
